Using Tech. and Team Building

Tom_1 I just completed a call using Skype, talking with Tom Heck of TeachMeTeamwork.com

Tom is based in Asheville, NC and the purpose of our call was for me to offer him some ideas and support around his blog--some coaching. However, I think it was me who ended up receiving the coaching, as Tom walked me through how he records and posts audio and video files to his sites.

I've been following Tom's work for several year's now. Tom is an expert on team building and recently opened access to his materials so membership is now free. Check out his web site and be sure to subscribe to his newsletter and his blog.

Team Building Manifesto

I was looking through the manifesto's posted at ChangeThis and came across one from Kevin Eikenberry. Kevin has written a manifesto about team building that I really like. He uses an acronym, C.A.R.B. to describe the major points in building a team.

Because of my past team building experience, clients often come to me looking for team building and also the quick solution. I think I will use Kevin's manifesto to help persuade them to think otherwise.

There are no quick fixes, however that does not mean we can't go after the low hanging fruit first.

Organizational Change: No One Said it Would Be Easy or Fast!

Organizational change remains one of the top items discussed and debated related to creating successful companies. We all know change is constant and in many cases, moving at a pace that many of us find difficult to keep up with.

In a recent article in Red Herring, a study conducted by IBM found that 80 percent of CEO's were dissatisfied with their organizations ability to manage change. The article goes on to talk about how very few CEO's actually take responsibility for championing innovation.
